Research Topic
Prof. Yang's NEST Lab focuses on micro/nano fabrication and their applications to sensor and transducer devices. Based on these technologies, we solve the problems that human race faces and create new values. Moreover, we cultivate young researchers for continual development of mankind.
Micro/Nanomanufacturing Processes and Systems

We have developed a number of novel technology to fabricate nanostructures and apply them to sensor and transducer devices. We aim at developing facile, low-cost and high-throughput fabrication processes for high-performance and reliable devices. Specifically, we develop wet-chemical processes, screen printing and inkjet printing methods for synthesis, integration and patterning nanomaterials.
Environmental Sensor Systems

We have developed environmental sensors by using unique physical and chemical properties of nanomaterials and high surface-to-volume ratio of nanostructures. These nanomaterial based gas sensors detect extremely low concentration of gases, and their array devices measure concentration of target gases in gas mixtures.
Bio Sensor Systems

We have developed bio sensors based on optical and electrochemical methods. The sophisticatedly designed nanostructures concentrate the electric field and that contributes to detecting extremely low concentration of molecules by using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS).
